Welcome to PolyRead AI. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the PolyRead AI platform, website, applications, and services (collectively, the "Service") operated by Apparent Group Limited ("Company," "we," "us," or "our").

By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

    • 2. Definitions

  • "Account" means the account you create to access and use the Service.
  • "Content" means any text, audio, files, or other materials you upload, submit, or generate through the Service.
  • "Generated Audio" means audio files created by the Service based on your input.
  • "Subscription" means the paid plan you purchase to access the Service.
  • "User," "you," or "your" refers to the individual or entity accessing or using the Service.
  • "Voice Clone" means a synthetic voice created from audio samples you provide.

    • 3. Eligibility

    To use the Service, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction;
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement;
  • Not be barred from using the Service under applicable laws;
  • Provide accurate and complete registration information.

    • If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

    4. Account Registration and Security

    4.1 Account Creation

    To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration;
  • Maintain and promptly update your account information;
  • Keep your password secure and confidential;
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account.

    • 4.2 Account Responsibility

    You are solely responsible for all activities that occur under your account. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account credentials.

    4.3 One Account Per User

    Each user may maintain only one active account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits, abuse promotions, or evade restrictions is prohibited and may result in termination of all associated accounts.

    5. Subscription Plans and Billing

    5.1 Subscription Options

    We offer subscription plans as described on our pricing page. Plan features, pricing, and terms are subject to change with reasonable notice.

    5.2 Billing

  • Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or yearly basis, depending on the plan selected.
  • By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your designated payment method for the subscription fees.
  • All fees are quoted and charged in United States Dollars (USD) unless otherwise specified.

    • 5.3 Automatic Renewal

    Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting support@polyreadai.com.

    5.4 Price Changes

    We reserve the right to modify subscription pricing. Any price changes will be communicated at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

    5.5 Taxes

    You are responsible for all applicable taxes, duties, and levies associated with your subscription, except for taxes based on our net income.

    6. Refund Policy

    6.1 30-Day Money-Back Guarantee

    We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee for new subscribers, subject to the following conditions:

  • Full Refund Eligibility: You are eligible for a 100% refund if:

    • - Your refund request is made within 30 days of your initial subscription purchase; AND

    - You have generated less than 50,000 characters of audio (approximately 1 hour of audio content).

  • Pro-Rated Refund: If you request a refund after 30 days, or if you have exceeded the 50,000 character threshold within the 30-day period, you may be eligible for a pro-rated refund based on the unused portion of your current subscription period.

    • 6.2 Refund Process

    To request a refund, contact us at support@polyreadai.com with your account email and reason for the refund request. Refunds are typically processed within 5-10 business days.

    6.3 Non-Refundable Items

    The following are non-refundable:

  • Subscription renewals (after the initial 30-day period);
  • Accounts terminated for Terms violations;
  • Partial months or unused features.

    • 6.4 Content Rights After Refund

    If you receive a refund, you retain full commercial rights to any audio content you generated during your subscription period.

    7. Fair Use Policy

    7.1 Unlimited Fair Use

    Our "Unlimited" subscription plans are subject to a Fair Use Policy designed to ensure quality service for all users.

    Fair Use Includes:
  • Creating audio content for your personal projects;
  • Generating audio for commercial purposes (podcasts, audiobooks, videos, courses);
  • Using the Service for client work;
  • Integrating with our API for your applications.
    • Fair Use Excludes:
  • Reselling, sublicensing, or redistributing API access to third parties;
  • Operating a competing text-to-speech service using our platform;
  • Automated bulk generation designed to abuse system resources;
  • Sharing account credentials with multiple users;
  • Any activity that disrupts, degrades, or impairs the Service.

    • 7.2 Usage Monitoring

    We reserve the right to monitor usage patterns to ensure compliance with this Fair Use Policy. Accounts exhibiting abusive usage may be subject to throttling, suspension, or termination.

    8. Acceptable Use Policy

    You agree NOT to use the Service to:

    8.1 Illegal Activities

  • Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or legal obligations;
  • Infringe upon intellectual property rights of others;
  • Engage in fraud, money laundering, or other financial crimes.

    • 8.2 Harmful Content

  • Generate content that is defamatory, obscene, or harassing;
  • Create content that promotes violence, discrimination, or hatred;
  • Produce content that exploits minors in any way;
  • Generate deepfakes or synthetic media intended to deceive, defraud, or harm individuals;
  • Impersonate real individuals without their explicit consent.

    • 8.3 Voice Cloning Restrictions

    When using our voice cloning feature, you represent and warrant that:

  • You have obtained explicit, informed consent from any individual whose voice you clone;
  • You will not use cloned voices to impersonate individuals for fraudulent purposes;
  • You will not create voice clones of public figures, celebrities, or third parties without proper authorization;
  • You will comply with all applicable laws regarding synthetic voice and identity.

    • 8.4 System Abuse

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems;
  • Introduce malware, viruses, or other harmful code;
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service;
  • Circumvent any security measures or usage limitations;
  • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) except through our official API.

    • 9. Intellectual Property

    9.1 Our Intellectual Property

    The Service, including its design, features, functionality, software, algorithms, and documentation, is owned by Apparent Group Limited and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of our proprietary technology.

    9.2 Your Content

    You retain ownership of all original content you upload to the Service (such as text scripts and voice samples). By uploading content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process and transform your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

    9.3 Generated Audio Ownership

    You own the audio content you generate. Subject to your compliance with these Terms:
  • All Generated Audio created through your paid subscription is your property;
  • You have full commercial rights to use, sell, distribute, and monetize your Generated Audio;
  • These rights are perpetual and survive cancellation of your subscription;
  • We do not claim any ownership or royalty rights to your Generated Audio.

    • 9.4 Voice Library

    Voices provided in our voice library are licensed for your use within the Service. You may not extract, copy, or redistribute individual voice models outside of their intended use.

    10. API Usage

    10.1 API Access

    API access is included with eligible subscription plans. Your use of the API is subject to these Terms and any additional API documentation we provide.

    10.2 API Keys

  • API keys are confidential and must not be shared or published;
  • You are responsible for all API calls made using your keys;
  • We may revoke API keys if we detect abuse or security concerns.

    • 10.3 Rate Limits

    While our plans offer generous usage, we may implement reasonable rate limits to ensure system stability. Current rate limits are documented in our API documentation.

    10.4 Prohibited API Uses

    You may not use the API to:

  • Build a competing text-to-speech service;
  • Resell API access to third parties;
  • Exceed documented rate limits through any means.

    • 11. Privacy and Data Protection

    11.1 Privacy Policy

    Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

    11.2 Data Processing

    By using the Service, you acknowledge that:

  • Text you submit is processed by our systems to generate audio;
  • Voice samples you upload are processed to create voice clones;
  • We may retain logs and metadata for security and service improvement;
  • We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

    • 11.3 Data Retention

  • Generated audio files are stored for your convenience and may be deleted after a period of inactivity;
  • You may request deletion of your data by contacting support@polyreadai.com;
  • Account deletion requests are processed within 30 days.

    • 12. Disclaimers

    12.1 Service Provided "As Is"

    THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

    12.2 No Guarantee of Availability

    We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. We may suspend or discontinue the Service for maintenance, updates, or other operational reasons.

    12.3 AI Limitations

    The Service uses artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies. We do not guarantee that:

  • Generated audio will be 100% accurate or error-free;
  • Voice clones will perfectly replicate source voices;
  • All generated content will be suitable for your intended purpose.

    • 13. Limitation of Liability

    13.1 Exclusion of Damages

    TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, APPARENT GROUP LIMITED SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

  • Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages;
  • Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities;
  • Damages arising from your use or inability to use the Service;
  • Damages resulting from unauthorized access to your account.

    • 13.2 Liability Cap

    OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

    13.3 Jurisdictional Limitations

    Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability. In such jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

    14. Indemnification

    You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Apparent Group Limited, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Service;
  • Your violation of these Terms;
  • Your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property or privacy rights;
  • Content you upload or generate through the Service;
  • Your use of voice cloning features without proper consent.

    • 15. Termination

    15.1 Termination by You

    You may cancel your subscription and terminate your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting support@polyreadai.com.

    15.2 Termination by Us

    We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, if:

  • You breach any provision of these Terms;
  • Your conduct could harm other users, us, or third parties;
  • We are required to do so by law;
  • We discontinue the Service.

    • 15.3 Effect of Termination

    Upon termination:

  • Your right to access the Service immediately ceases;
  • You retain ownership of Generated Audio created before termination;
  • We may delete your account data after a reasonable retention period;
  • Provisions that by their nature should survive (including Sections 9, 12, 13, 14, and 16) shall survive termination.

    • 16. Dispute Resolution

    16.1 Informal Resolution

    Before initiating any formal dispute resolution, you agree to first contact us at support@polyreadai.com to attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will endeavor to resolve disputes within 30 days.

    16.2 Governing Law

    These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.

    16.3 Jurisdiction

    Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong SAR.

    16.4 Waiver of Class Actions

    TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOU AGREE TO RESOLVE DISPUTES ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN CLASS ACTIONS, CLASS ARBITRATIONS, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTIONS.

    17. General Provisions

    17.1 Entire Agreement

    These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any other policies referenced herein, constitute the entire agreement between you and Apparent Group Limited regarding the Service.

    17.2 Severability

    If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

    17.3 Waiver

    Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.

    17.4 Assignment

    You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights hereunder without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction.

    17.5 Notices

    We may provide notices to you via email, through the Service, or by posting on our website. Notices to us should be sent to support@polyreadai.com.

    17.6 Force Majeure

    We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, terrorism, labor disputes, government actions, or internet service disruptions.

    18. Changes to Terms

    We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via:

  • Email notification to your registered address;
  • Prominent notice on our website or within the Service.

    • Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the Service and may request a pro-rated refund for any unused subscription period.
